Beneficiary Farmers Gain Approval in Palamu

MEDININAGAR – The district-level selection committee meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Palamu, approved applications submitted by farmers for various schemes under the farm mechanization initiative. Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan emphasized efforts to enhance farmers’ income and improve their quality of life through government schemes.
Applications from small and marginal farmers, women’s self-help groups, and other farming collectives were considered. Beneficiaries will receive mini tractors, auxiliary agricultural tools, and irrigation equipment like pump sets and solar-powered systems.
Focus on Empowering Women and Marginal Farmers
Women self-help groups and progressive farmers benefited significantly under the 2023-24 and 2024-25 financial years. In 2023-24, four women’s groups received mini tractors, while another two secured power tillers. Progressive farmers also gained approvals for equipment under similar schemes.
Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan highlighted, “Our administration is committed to ensuring direct benefits of government programs to the farmers, improving agricultural practices and incomes.”
Expanding Benefits Through State Schemes
Under the 2024-25 plans, irrigation assistance will extend to 336 applicants under the OSP category and 79 under SCS. Beneficiaries from programs like MGNREGA will also gain access to solar and conventional pump sets.
The state government’s tractor distribution program will see 11 tractors and three mini tractors allocated under the OSP category, with selections already completed.
The meeting was attended by officials, including District Land Conservation Officer Shyam Bind and representatives from various departments, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation process.
