State squads depart for 74th Senior National Basketball Championship in Gujarat

JAMSHEDPUR – Jharkhand’s basketball teams are departing for the 74th Senior National Basketball Championship in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.

The state’s boys and girls squads will compete against top teams nationwide. The championship runs from January 5-12.

Moreover, the teams will travel via Howrah Ahmedabad Superfast Express. Meanwhile, state officials extended their best wishes.

Team Composition

Vimalesh Kumar will lead the boys’ squad as captain. Furthermore, international coach Arif Aftab heads the coaching staff.

Additionally, the girls’ team features captain Jiden Barla. The squad includes talented players like Tiny Lal and Reet Agarwal.

Championship History

This marks Jharkhand’s 15th appearance in the senior nationals. Moreover, the state has previously secured podium finishes.

Meanwhile, Bhavnagar’s modern basketball facility will host the event. The venue has hosted several national tournaments before.

Preparation Phase

The teams underwent intensive training at JRD Tata Sports Complex. Furthermore, practice sessions focused on strategy development.

On the other hand, the coaching staff emphasized physical conditioning. The teams participated in several practice matches.
