Delegation Submits Memorandum to Deputy Commissioner in Jamshedpur

Key Points:

  • Home Guards in Jamshedpur demand service continuation based on retirement dates.
  • Many guards claim 6 months to 1 year of service is still pending.
  • Guards request Deputy Commissioner’s intervention to resolve the issue.

JAMSHEDPUR – A delegation of Home Guards approached the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Jamshedpur to submit a memorandum, demanding that they be allowed to serve for the remaining time before their retirement as per their birth dates. The guards highlighted their plight, stating that despite their eligibility, they are being denied duty.

Guards Highlight Unfair Treatment

The Home Guards, who were recruited in 1994, claimed that some have 6 months and others up to a year remaining before retirement. Despite this, they have been left without assignments, leading to severe financial difficulties. “We are struggling to make ends meet, even though we are still eligible to serve,” said a representative of the delegation.

Plea for Administrative Intervention

The memorandum, submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, sought immediate action to reinstate them for the remaining duration of their service. The guards emphasized that the denial of duty not only impacts their livelihoods but also disregards their years of dedicated service.

Awaiting Resolution

The Deputy Commissioner has assured the delegation of a review of the situation. The guards remain hopeful that their grievances will be addressed promptly, allowing them to serve the remaining tenure as per their rightful retirement dates.
