Drunk Youths Assault Truck Driver After Minor Collision

A few youths created ruckus at police station following late-night incident

JAMSHEDPUR – A rice-laden truck driver was brutally assaulted by five persons after a minor collision near Chaibasa bus stand.

The incident occurred around 10:30 PM on Friday night. The truck was transporting rice from Burma Mines FCI godown.

“The car was driving in the wrong direction when it hit the truck,” said the driver. Moreover, the assailants ignored the driver’s pleas of innocence.

The attackers inflicted serious injuries to driver Dinesh Patel’s head and face. Meanwhile, nearby shopkeepers intervened to save him.

Police Intervention

PCR patrolling team reached the spot after receiving information. Furthermore, a police constable’s jacket was torn during the mediation.

The police seized both vehicles involved in the incident. In addition, all parties were taken to the police station.

Previous Incidents

Similar cases of road rage have been reported in the area before. On the other hand, this was the first in that area.

The accused created chaos at the police station later. Meanwhile, local residents demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
