CHAKULIA – Two motorcycle-borne youth allegedly hypnotized and robbed a retired teacher’s wife of her gold chain in Bajpayee Nagar Colony.
The incident occurred at retired teacher Anang Kumar Mahato’s residence. Moreover, the criminals posed as utensil cleaners to gain entry into the house.
Station in-charge Santosh Kumar has confirmed the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, similar incidents of hypnosis-based thefts have risen in the region.
Crime Details
The criminals approached around 9:30 AM on Saturday morning. Furthermore, they initially requested to clean household utensils.
“We are examining CCTV footage from the area,” revealed a police source. Additionally, special teams have been formed to track the suspects.
Victim’s Account
Veenapani Mahato detailed the incident in her police complaint. However, she claims to have lost consciousness for two minutes during the encounter.
On the other hand, experts warn against letting strangers into homes. Besides, residents have been advised to enhance security measures.
