TAA’s Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Shine at Senior National Archery

Ankita Wins 2 Golds, 1 Silver; Komalika Clinches Gold in Nationals

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Archery Academy’s (TAA) Ankita Bhakat bagged two Gold medals and one Silver, while Komalika Bari clinched one Gold at the Senior National Archery Championship 2024. The championship was organized by the Jharkhand Archery Association in partnership with the Archery Association of India, NTPC, and Tata Steel.

Team and Individual Performances

The Jharkhand Women’s Recurve Team, featuring Ankita Bhakat, Komalika Bari, and Tamanna, secured Gold after defeating Madhya Pradesh. Individually, Ankita claimed Silver in the Women’s Recurve category and Gold in the ranking round with an impressive score of 667/720.

Former Tata Archery Academy cadet Deepika added to the accolades, winning Gold in the Women’s Recurve category, showcasing her consistency at the national level.

Closing Ceremony Highlights

The closing ceremony saw distinguished guests celebrating the achievements of the athletes. Arjun Munda, President of the Archery Association of India, attended as the Chief Guest, while Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services, Tata Steel, was the Guest of Honour.

Other notable attendees included Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief of Sports at Tata Steel, Hemant Gupta, Head of Sports Academies and Adventure Programs, and Padma Shree awardee Purnima Mahato, Head Coach of Tata Archery Academy.

The Senior National Archery Championship 2024 successfully brought together top archery talent from across the country. Tata Archery Academy continues to take pride in nurturing exceptional athletes like Ankita and Komalika, who display remarkable skill, focus, and determination.

The event not only celebrated the spirit of archery but also reinforced the importance of platforms that promote excellence in the sport.
