JAMSHEDPUR – An unidentified assailant attacked Rajiv Chandra Trivedi with a sharp weapon near Dimna Road, leaving him critically injured.
On Wednesday night, in the Ulidih police station area behind the Dainik Jagran office on Dimna Road, an unknown individual assaulted Rajiv Chandra Trivedi, a resident of Subhash Colony. The attack occurred following a dispute over a request for khaini (chewing tobacco), escalating into violence. Local residents promptly transported the injured Rajiv to TMH Hospital, where doctors report multiple severe injuries.
Upon receiving information, Ulidih police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. They have also questioned Rajiv at the hospital. Ulidih Police Station In-Charge Amit Kumar stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. The incident has caused fear and anger among local residents.
Rajiv Chandra Trivedi previously worked at Tata Steel and later served as the bureau chief for Ranchi Express. Due to his social standing, police have assured his family of a thorough investigation.
Notably, the Ulidih area has experienced similar violent incidents recently. Approximately three weeks ago, a gang member named Tony Singh was shot dead on Dimna Road, indicating a potential rise in local crime.
