JAMSHEDPUR – XITE Gamharia hosted a two-day National Conference from December 7–8, 2024, attracting scholars, academicians, and students from across the country.
Themed “Identity, Technology, Gender, and Societal Transformation”, the event facilitated intellectual exchange, highlighting key societal challenges and fostering collaborative discussions.
Inauguration and Day 1 Highlights
The conference began with a traditional Lighting of the Lamp and a soulful prayer by the XITE choir. Dr. (Fr.) Mukti Clarence SJ, Vice Principal and Convenor, delivered the Welcome Address, setting the tone for the conference. Dr. Rupa Sarkar, Associate Professor of English at Arka Jain University, addressed attendees as the Guest of Honor, offering valuable perspectives.
After the group photo and tea break, the first set of technical sessions commenced. Topics ranged from patriarchy and tribal traditions to entrepreneurial development. Scholars like Shreya Raj, Awani Sahay, and Dr. Radha Mahali shared thought-provoking research.
Day 2 Online Presentations
On December 8, the focus shifted to online paper presentations divided into two tracks. Dr. Lisa Thomas and Dr. Manisha Titus chaired the sessions. Discussions explored topics such as digital identity, gender dynamics, artificial intelligence’s impact on creative writing, and environmental degradation.
Scholars, including Praveen Toppo, Ananya Banerjee, and Indrani Singh, brought fresh insights to the table. Their research addressed pressing societal issues through an interdisciplinary lens.
Organizational Excellence and Leadership
The success of the conference was attributed to the leadership of Dr. (Fr.) E.A. Francis, SJ, Principal of XITE Gamharia, and the meticulous planning by the organizing committee. Co-Convenor Assistant Prof. Akinchan Xaxa, along with faculty members Dr. Swati Singh and Assistant Prof. Amit Chaturvedi, played crucial roles.
Mr. Ashish Singh, Branding & Communication Head, led the logistical arrangements, ensuring seamless execution of the two-day event.
