Jamshedpur’s Co-op College Halts Classes Two Months Before Board Exams
Key Points:
- Students face uncertainty as intermediate classes suspended for over a month
- 3,000 pupils struggle with incomplete syllabus ahead of JAC board exams
- College cites election duties and registration process for extended closure
JAMSHEDPUR – A prolonged suspension of intermediate classes at Co-operative College has left 3,000 students struggling with exam preparations.
The situation has sparked widespread concern among students and parents alike. Only half of the syllabus has been completed so far.
Moreover, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) board examinations begin after February 15.
“The situation is becoming increasingly difficult for students,” remarked a concerned parent.
Meanwhile, the college administration points to multiple factors behind the closure. The registration process continues to delay class resumption.
Furthermore, the college premises were requisitioned for assembly election duties recently. This added to the disruption of regular classes.
“We are working to address these challenges promptly,” stated an administrative official.
In addition, construction activities in classrooms have contributed to the delay. This has further complicated the resumption timeline.
However, the college did attempt some alternative arrangements. Online sessions were conducted during the election period.
The JAC intermediate examinations typically span over 30-45 days. Previous year’s pass percentage was 85%.
Besides, students usually require at least three months for comprehensive exam preparation. The current situation has disrupted this timeline.
Meanwhile, other colleges in Jamshedpur have already completed 75% of their syllabus. This has created additional pressure on Co-operative College students.
