Students Protest at Jamshedpur’s Graduate College For Women Over Aadhaar ID Delays

College administration pledges swift resolution to facilitate registrations

Key Points:

  • Students unable to register due to pending Aadhaar IDs
  • College principal cites technical issues for the delay
  • Student leader criticizes government’s education policies

JAMSHEDPUR – Students of The Graduate School College for Women staged a protest over delays in obtaining Aadhaar IDs, hindering their registration process.

The students expressed frustration as the absence of Aadhaar IDs has prevented their registrations. Student leader Prabhjot Singh Rathore criticized the administration, stating, “Students’ futures are being jeopardized.” He also accused the central government of depriving students of their educational rights under the new education policy.

College principal Dr. Veena Priyadarshini explained that technical issues have delayed the issuance of Aadhaar IDs for students under 15. She assured that efforts are underway to provide these IDs promptly. For students over 15, forms have been submitted, and those with Aadhaar IDs can proceed with registration.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) oversees Aadhaar services nationwide. Delays in Aadhaar issuance have previously disrupted academic processes, as seen in other institutions.
