Traffic Police Launch Anti-encroachment Drive in Adityapur

Municipal Corporation and Police Launch Major Anti-encroachment Operation

Key Points:

  • Joint campaign clears vendors from Kharkai Bridge and key Adityapur locations
  • 24-hour notice issued to shopkeepers for voluntary removal
  • Action follows increasing traffic problems and safety concerns

JAMSHEDPUR – A collaborative effort between Adityapur Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police targets illegal roadside encroachments to enhance public safety.

The anti-encroachment drive began at Kharkai Bridge area. Meanwhile, the operation expanded to Akashvani Chowk.

Moreover, authorities covered Sher-e-Punjab Chowk and Imli Chowk. “Public safety is our top priority in this operation,” stated a senior municipal official.

The rising accident rate triggered this urgent action. In fact, official records show a 30% increase in traffic incidents last year.

Furthermore, emergency response times had doubled due to congestion. Besides, pedestrian movement was severely restricted by vendor stalls.

Traffic In-charge Rajesh Kumar leads the enforcement team. On the other hand, City Manager Ravi Bharti oversees municipal operations.

Additionally, Tax Inspector Ravindra Ram monitors compliance with regulations. However, some vendors have requested relocation assistance.

The Municipal Act provides strict guidelines for such cases. Meanwhile, the traffic department has intensified patrolling in these areas.

In addition, authorities plan to install CCTV cameras at key points. Moreover, regular monitoring will ensure sustained results.

“We need community support for lasting change,” remarked a local resident.
