JAMSHEDPUR – Adityapur police in Saraikela district achieved another breakthrough in their fight against drug trafficking, arresting two men with 29.25 grams of brown sugar.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by SDPO Sameer Savai raided H Road in Muslim Basti. The suspects, identified as Mohammad Sarik and Sartaj Ansari, were apprehended with contraband valued at approximately ₹6 lakh. Police also confiscated three mobile phones: a OnePlus smartphone, a Vivo device, and a Nokia keypad mobile.

During interrogation, the suspects revealed that they were involved in selling brown sugar under pressure from Saddam Khan, a notorious drug dealer currently in jail. SDPO Savai stated that ongoing anti-drug operations have significantly curtailed trafficking in the area, but some individuals continue the trade clandestinely.

Police are investigating the extent of the duo’s connections to other drug networks. This arrest marks a crucial step in the fight against drug abuse in the region.
