JAMSHEDPUR – Following Chhath Puja celebrations, members of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur NextGen and Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Green joined forces to clean the Domuhani riverbanks at Rivermeet. This initiative aimed to address the significant health and environmental risks posed by waste and leftover Puja materials.
The cleanup campaign was spearheaded by Rotarian Animesh Chhapolia and Rotarian Manish Sharma. They led volunteers in removing debris and restoring cleanliness along the riverbank.
“The ghats were heavily polluted, and immediate action was necessary to prevent further harm to the environment and community health,” said Chhapolia.
During the drive, participants focused on raising awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability. Club members highlighted how festivals can adopt eco-friendly practices and urged citizens to actively contribute to maintaining cleanliness at public places.
This collaborative initiative also reflected the Rotary Clubs’ ongoing commitment to community welfare and environmental preservation. Members expressed hope that their actions would inspire others to adopt responsible waste disposal during future celebrations.
