MEDININAGAR – A gruesome murder shook Palamu’s Parpaine village in Tarhasi as health worker Anju Devi was found dead in her kitchen, her throat slit. Police confirmed the incident and sent the body for autopsy at MMCH in Medininagar.
Anju, who worked as a health worker, had been living in Ranchi with her husband Anoop Kumar and their two children. She had returned to her village only two days prior to the incident. Late Sunday night, her sister-in-law discovered the body and raised an alarm, attracting villagers.
“The house was empty during the murder as her husband and children were in Ranchi,” said an investigating officer. Police detained the sister-in-law, who fainted after seeing the body, for further questioning.
The crime scene is being thoroughly examined, and the motive remains unclear. "We are investigating all possible angles," said SDPO Manoj Kumar Jha.
This tragic incident has left the community in shock. Family members and villagers gathered at the scene, demanding swift justice.
