JAMSHEDPUR – A terrifying dog attack in Baliguma’s Sukna Basti left Nakul Singh with severe facial injuries on Monday morning.
Singh was taken to MGM Hospital, where he received anti-rabies treatment and first aid before being discharged.
The incident began when Singh’s goat, grazing near a drain behind Siroman Nagar, was chased by a stray dog. Although the goat managed to return safely near the house, Singh’s father attempted to scare the dog away with a stone but missed. In retaliation, the dog attacked him, knocking him down and biting his face.
Nearby residents intervened, driving the dog away and rushing Singh to the hospital. A local resident shared concerns about the growing stray dog problem, stating, "Dog attacks have become common in the area, and people are living in fear."
Meanwhile, the incident has raised awareness about the need for measures to control stray dog populations in Sukna Basti and nearby areas.
