Key Points:
• East Singhbhum to seal borders 72 hours before November 13 assembly elections
• Hotels and public spaces to face heightened surveillance 48 hours pre-polls
• One-vehicle policy enforced for candidates, strict device ban near polling stations
JAMSHEDPUR – District Election Officer Ananya Mittal has unveiled comprehensive security measures for the upcoming East Singhbhum assembly elections.
The administration will implement stringent border controls starting November 10.
"These protocols are essential to maintain the sanctity of our electoral process," stated a senior election official.
Law enforcement teams will monitor all entry points into the district.
Meanwhile, security forces will conduct thorough inspections of public gathering spaces.
"We have observed suspicious activities in previous elections at lodging facilities," revealed a local police inspector.
Ensuring Fair Elections
The authorities have established strict vehicle regulations for polling day.
Each candidate must limit themselves to using just one vehicle.
Similar restrictions apply to election agents and party workers.
Maintaining Polling Station Security
A 200-meter vehicle-free zone will surround all polling stations.
This measure aims to prevent unauthorized congregation near voting centers.
"The vehicle restrictions will help create a peaceful voting environment," explained a security coordinator.
Digital Security Measures
A comprehensive ban on communication devices will be enforced within 100 meters of polling booths.
Only authorized election officials may carry phones while on duty.
