MEDININAGAR – Seven inmates of Medininagar Central Jail are set to observe the Chhath festival with special arrangements by prison authorities.

The prison administration has initiated comprehensive cleaning of the facility for the upcoming festival.

Moreover, officials have planned to create an artificial pond within the jail premises for ritual offerings.

In addition, both convicted and undertrial prisoners will participate in the sacred observations.

Meanwhile, other female inmates are contributing by singing traditional Chhath songs.

Furthermore, the prison management will provide new clothes and essential prayer materials to the participants.

"We are ensuring all necessary facilities for the devotees," stated a prison official.

However, authorities expect more inmates to join before the Nahay-Khay ceremony begins.

On the other hand, interested prisoners must submit applications to participate in the festivities.

Besides, special water arrangements will be made for the ritual performers.
