Jamshedpur Super League Kicks Off with 470 Young Footballers

17-week grassroots tournament features 70 teams in four age categories

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Super League, a grassroots football tournament, launched with 470 young players competing across four age categories.

Prashant Godbole, Jamshedpur FC General Manager, inaugurated the event at Tinplate Sports Complex.

The league will span 17 weeks, involving 70 teams in 475 matches.

Moreover, the tournament aims to provide structured competition for young talents.

Jamshedpur FC’s initiative focuses on promoting football at the grassroots level.

Furthermore, the league ensures ample playing time for all participants.

Godbole emphasized the importance of grassroots football in developing the sport.

"This league is a step towards building a stronger football community," he stated.

Meanwhile, matches will be held on Fridays and Sundays at two venues.

In the opening round, Jamshedpur FC football school teams dominated the younger categories.

Additionally, Kadma JMFA United and Bhalubasa 7-Star Club excelled in older age groups.

The Under-11 category saw high-scoring matches, with several teams securing big wins.

Meanwhile, the Under-13 matches were more closely contested.

Notably, the Under-5 and Under-7 categories featured some lopsided victories.

A local coach remarked, "This league provides crucial exposure for our young players to develop their skills."
