RANCHI – Congress has appointed three senior leaders as observers for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, aiming to strengthen its electoral strategy.
The Grand Old Party has named Tariq Anwar, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, and Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu as observers for the Jharkhand polls.
These appointments have taken immediate effect.
The observers will play a crucial role in shaping the party’s campaign and electoral approach.
Congress is currently part of the ruling alliance in Jharkhand.
The party shares power with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Meanwhile, the party has also announced poll observers for Maharashtra.
Former Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel will guide Congress efforts in Maharashtra.
The Maharashtra Assembly has 288 seats up for grabs.
Moreover, the current term of the Maharashtra Assembly is set to conclude on November 26, 2024.
A political analyst commented, "These appointments reflect Congress’s aspiration to strengthening its position in both states."
In addition, the observer appointments are expected to boost the party’s preparations for the upcoming electoral battles.
