RANCHI – Ranchi Police have denounced a fabricated sexual harassment claim against Jharkhand government minister Banna Gupta that has been circulating on social media platforms.

However, Ranchi SP Rajkumar Mehta swiftly addressed the issue in a press conference.

The SP emphatically stated, "The application being shared is entirely fake."

Moreover, he pointed out that a counterfeit seal had been used on the document.

"This is clearly an attempt to damage the reputation of Minister Banna Gupta and the Ranchi Police," Mehta added.

In addition, the SP assured that a thorough investigation into the matter is underway.

He emphasized the malicious intent behind the false claim.

They strongly advise against sharing unverified information on social media platforms.

Additionally, the authorities have cautioned that strict action will be taken against rumor-mongers.

On the other hand, the incident has raised concerns about the rapid spread of misinformation.
