Housing initiative unveils as Modi visits Jharkhand, boosting rural connectivity

JAMSHEDPUR – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a massive housing allocation initiative during his upcoming visit to Jamshedpur on September 15.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the Prime Minister’s plans to launch the allocation of two crore new homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
"Approximately 20,000 beneficiaries in Jharkhand will receive approval letters on Sunday," Chouhan stated during a press conference.
The minister emphasized the need to accelerate housing projects in the state.
"Construction of over 113,000 homes in Jharkhand is progressing slower than anticipated," Chouhan remarked.
He noted that Rs187.79 crore had already been allocated for the project.
However, Chouhan assured that many beneficiaries would soon receive their benefits.
Rural Connectivity Boost
The Union Minister highlighted progress in rural connectivity initiatives.
"About 163,000 villages have been connected via paved roads through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana," Chouhan reported.
He added that 25,000 new villages would be connected, with 62,500 kilometers of roads to be constructed.
"Over Rs70,000 crore has been issued for road construction," a local official commented.
Enhanced Security Measures
The state police are implementing extensive security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit.
More than 5,000 police personnel will be deployed across various locations in Jamshedpur.
"A multi-tier security blanket will be set up in areas where the PM will attend events," a senior police officer explained.
The city will be declared a "Temporary Red Zone" for drone operations during Modi’s visit.
"Unauthorized drone operations will face penalties under the Drone Rules, 2021," the officer warned.
Special security teams, including the Anti-Terrorist Squad and commandos, will be stationed at key locations.
"Two bomb disposal squads and two Rapid Action Force companies have also been deployed," an insider revealed.
Traffic Management
Approximately 100 police officers have been assigned to maintain proper traffic flow during the Prime Minister’s visit.
Senior IAS and IPS officers will manage security at key locations and along Modi’s routes.
"We’re ensuring a seamless and secure visit for the Prime Minister," a police spokesperson stated.
