JAMSHEDPUR – On September 15, the Karam Festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, organized by the Kudmi Sena.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the event and address the people of Jharkhand.

Additionally, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar has been invited as a guest of honor.

Kudmi Sena’s central president Shailendra Mahato and general secretary Arvind Kumar shared this information during a press conference in Sakchi on Wednesday.

Although PM Modi’s official confirmation to inaugurate the festival is yet to be received, preparations are already underway.

The event will also see the participation of several prominent leaders.

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, Bihar’s Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, West Bengal’s Cottage Industries Minister Shrikant Mahato, MPs Vidyut Varun Mahato and Chandraprakash Choudhary, and Odisha’s Rajya Sabha MP Mamata Mahanta are among the dignitaries expected to attend.

Kudmi Sena’s state president Vishal Chandra Mahato announced that 10,000 fruit-bearing saplings will be distributed among attendees.

He urged participants to wear traditional yellow attire to reflect the cultural essence of the festival.

The event is expected to attract around 100,000 people from Jharkhand, Bengal, and Odisha.

During the festival, a resolution will be taken to preserve the environment, society, and culture.

Odisha’s Bindhu Mahanta and her team will present traditional Jhumar songs and dances.

Additionally, five Kudmi doctors will be honored with the "Kudmi Ratna" award, and 25 individuals contributing to the progress of the community will also receive special recognition.
