KSMS Hosts A.P. R. Nair Memorial Basketball Tournament

City schools compete in two-day event honoring late Kerala Samajam chairman

JAMSHEDPUR – The A.P. R. Nair Memorial Invitational Basketball Tournament 2024 concluded with exciting finals at Kerala Samajam Model School, honoring the late chairman.

The tournament, organized by Kerala Samajam and KSMS, kicked off on September 6 with an opening ceremony.

Chief Guest K. Muralidharan, President of Kerala Samajam, led the proceedings.

Six schools from across the city participated in the two-day event.

The preliminary rounds, conducted in a knockout format, featured intense competition between boys’ and girls’ teams.

On September 9, the finals commenced at 6:00 p.m., showcasing two thrilling matches.

In the girls’ final, RMS Khutadih emerged victorious against KPS Burmamines.

Meanwhile, the boys’ final saw KPS Kadma clinching the title by defeating KSMS.

Individual honors were bestowed upon outstanding players during the tournament.

A. Sagar from KSMS was recognized as the Best Boy of the tournament.

On the other hand, Aditi from RMS Sonari received the accolade for Best Girl.

The event was meticulously organized by the school’s sports faculty members.

Deepak Jagan, Md. Shahbaz Khan, Anjani, and Jay Kumar played crucial roles in coordinating the tournament.

Notable attendees included K.P.G. Nair, Chairman of Kerala Samajam, and Nandini Shukla, Principal of KSMS.

Moreover, Vice Principals Rina Banerjee, Sujata, and A.L. Abraham graced the occasion with their presence.

The tournament drew enthusiastic support from parents, teachers, and Kerala Samajam community members.
