JAMSHEDPUR – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand grapples with internal discord as Assembly elections approach, with members voicing concerns against local leadership.
Recent events have unveiled growing dissatisfaction among BJP members across several districts in Jharkhand.
Following discontent in East Singhbhum, similar grievances have emerged in Saraikela-Kharsawan district.
The current target of dissatisfaction is District President Uday Pratap Singhdev.
On Sunday, a delegation of senior BJP members met State President Babulal Marandi in Ranchi.
They presented a written statement containing serious allegations against Singhdev, supported by evidence.
Moreover, the members accused Singhdev of consistently misbehaving with party workers and sidelining senior members.
In addition, they alleged he opposed the party’s candidate in the 2019 elections.
Furthermore, the letter questioned the removal of former District President Vijay Mahato, an OBC leader.
Meanwhile, the delegation included prominent BJP members such as Abhijit Dutta and Brahmanand Jha.
However, the situation raises concerns about the party’s ability to address these internal issues.
On the other hand, the recent joining of former CM Champai Soren to BJP adds another layer to this complex scenario.
The internal strife could potentially impact BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Assembly elections.
"A reliable source within the party stated, "This discord needs immediate attention to ensure unity before the elections."
