CM Hemant Soren inaugurates state-of-the-art New Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi.

Jharkhand’s presence in the national capital was strengthened with the inauguration of New Jharkhand Bhawan in Connaught Place by CM Hemant Soren.

NEW DELHI – Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the New Jharkhand Bhawan located in Delhi’s Connaught Place, marking a significant step for the state’s representation in the capital.

Connaught Place, often referred to as the heart of Delhi since British times, now hosts the new Jharkhand government building.

Previously, Jharkhand had an office in Vasant Vihar, but this new location is expected to enhance the state’s visibility and accessibility.

Constructed by the Building Construction Department of Jharkhand, the building is strategically placed on Bangla Sahib Road, providing easy access to major transport hubs and healthcare facilities.

The project was initiated by former Chief Minister and current Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, who not only laid the foundation stone but also oversaw the land acquisition.

However, the honor of inaugurating the building was given to CM Hemant Soren.

At the ceremony, CM Soren expressed pride in the completion of the project, which had been long awaited.

He highlighted the building’s modern amenities, including a gym, dining hall, conference hall, and parking facilities.

He also noted the use of advanced technologies such as rainwater harvesting and energy efficiency measures.

“This building’s location in Connaught Place will not only improve access but also serve as a reflection of Jharkhand’s initiatives in the national capital,” Soren remarked.

Dignitaries and Cultural Performances

The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including ministers Rameshwar Oraon, Satyanand Bhokta, Hafizul Hasan, Ramdas Soren, Deepika Pandey, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, Irfan Ansari, Baby Devi, and Deepak Birua.

Legislators Kalpana Soren and Umashankar Akela, along with MPs Kalicharan Munda and Mahua Maji, were also present.

Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, former Rajya Sabha member Dheeraj Sahu, and key government officials, such as Chief Secretary L. Khiyangate, and Principal Secretaries Praveen Kumar Toppo and Sunil Kumar, also attended the event.

The event also featured vibrant performances showcasing Jharkhand’s rich tribal culture, including dances from the Oraon, Munda, Ho, and Santhali communities.

These performances captivated the audience and added a cultural touch to the ceremony.
