Over 200 students from 17 schools and 4 colleges participated in competitions organized by Jeevan Suicide Prevention Centre.
Jeevan Suicide Prevention Centre hosted multiple competitions at RMS High School, Khutadih, involving more than 200 students from various educational institutions.
JAMSHEDPUR – To observe World Suicide Prevention Day, Jeevan Suicide Prevention Centre held a series of competitions at RMS High School, Khutadih, engaging over 200 students from 17 schools and 4 colleges.
Students participated in three main events: a street play, a debate, and a T-shirt painting competition.
The street play, themed “Changing the Narrative on Suicide – Start the Conversation,” encouraged youth to engage in mental health discussions.
Fifteen teams delivered powerful performances, which were evaluated by judges Geeta Dubey, Nizam, and Gautam Gope.
In the T-shirt painting contest, 51 participants expressed the importance of mental health through their art, impressing judges Jasmin Adeshra, Harpreet Marwah, and Mokshita with their creativity.
The debate competition, held in both Hindi and English, featured 48 students discussing the role of mental health education in schools.
Judges Shamita Ahuja, Vandana Jain, and Anuradha Banerjee praised the students for their insightful and well-argued points.
Parents and teachers lauded the flawless organization of the event, with many highlighting the importance of student engagement on mental health issues.
All participants will receive certificates, and winners in each category will be honored at an evening function on September 10th.
Jeevan also encouraged schools and colleges to organize mental health awareness rallies, with five institutions already planning events.
