JAMSHEDPUR – Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a crucial meeting held at 10 PM last night.
It is now almost certain that he would soon be joining BJP instead of forming his own outfit.
According to sources, he is most likely going to be fielded on Seraikela seat, while his son Babulal Soren may be fielded from Ghatshila seat.
The meeting was also attended by Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP election in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Political Shift
According to sources, Champai Soren is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). All the wrinkles have been finally been ironed out with the intervention of Himanta Biswa Sarma and Amit Shah.
The meeting has sparked political speculation, with Soren’s potential entry into the BJP expected to shake up the political landscape in Jharkhand.
Possible Announcement
It is anticipated that Champai Soren’s formal induction into the BJP could take place in either Ranchi or Seraikela, with Amit Shah potentially attending the event.
The move is seen as part of the BJP’s strategy to counter Hemant Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in all 14 seats of the Kolhan region.
Electoral Strategy
Sources indicate that the BJP has nearly finalized its decision to field Champai Soren from Seraikela and his son, Baboolal Soren, from Ghatshila in the upcoming elections.
While no official confirmation has been made, this development has been rumored for some time and now appears to be coming to fruition.
