Electricity Disconnections in Galudih Lead to Protests by Villagers

Villagers of Upardanga and Patmahulia protest sudden power cuts without notice.

In the Galudih police station area, electricity workers disconnected power connections in Upardanga and Patmahulia villages on Wednesday without any prior notice.

JAMSHEDPUR – Electricity workers were protested by villagers from Patmahulia and Upardanga for disconnecting power lines without prior notification.

The villagers conveyed their dismay, claiming that approximately 30 residences were abruptly disconnected on Wednesday morning.

The electricity department staff responded that they were instructed by the Junior Engineer in Ghatshila to disconnect power as a result of cables that were suspended from bamboo poles when questioned.

According to village residents, they have resided in the vicinity for nearly three decades, during which time they have utilized bamboo poles to sustain power lines.

The department has not taken any action, despite receiving numerous requests for appropriate electric poles.

Initiatives have not been initiated, despite assurances from Ramdas Soren, the MLA of Ghatshila.

The power supply was abruptly disconnected by the department.

Present at the protest were villagers Anil Sen, Ajay Bhagat, Bipatarini Pal, Ravindra Nath Seet, Mahadev Singh, Swaroop Rai, Pooja Devi Bhagat, Manoj Das, Chhutu Babu Singh, Mousa Singh, Budheshwar Singh, Peer Singh, Chudamani Karmakar, Gopal Sabar, Mukul Karmakar, Sumitra Mahato, Krishna Soren, and others.
