Online Training Session on CRS Portal Upgrade Held in Jamshedpur

Officials Discuss Upgraded CRS Portal for Birth and Death Registration

An online training session, chaired by District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, focused on the CRS portal’s upgradation for birth and death registration.

JAMSHEDPUR – Ananya Mittal, the District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner, led a one-day online training session to discuss the upgradation of the CRS portal for birth and death registration.

The participants consisted of registrars, branch managers, IT staff from both government and private medical institutions, urban body registrars, sub-registrars, and officers from different blocks.

The session focused on the Revised Act of 2023 and the updated CRS Portal.

One of the key points is that starting from October 1, 2023, it will be mandatory for children to have a birth certificate.

You will need this certificate to obtain important documents like Aadhar card, PAN card, voter list, driving license, and government job applications.

Now, medical institutions are required to provide a medical certification stating the cause of death.

The new and improved CRS Revamped Portal now makes it possible for citizens to conveniently request birth and death certificates online using their mobile phones and a one-time password (OTP).

Once the verification process is complete, the registrar will be able to issue the certificate and send it to the email address provided by the informant.

According to trainers, the upgraded portal makes it easier to get birth and death certificates.

You need to register online records on the CRS portal within 21 days after a birth or death occurs.

After the application is submitted, the registrar reviews it and then issues the certificate online.

This process removes the requirement for in-person visits to offices and decreases the risk of fraud in certificates.

You do not need to pay any fees if you apply for certificates within 21 days of the birth or death.

If you submit your application after 21 days, you will be charged fees. The fee is Rs 2 if your application is submitted between 22 to 30 days, Rs 5 if it is submitted between 31 days to one year, and Rs 10 if it is submitted after one year.

Please enter the receipt number for the late fee on the portal so that we can process your late applications.
