Jamshedpur officials organize peace committee meetings to ensure a harmonious Bakrid celebration on June 17

District officials organize peace committee meetings to ensure a peaceful Bakrid celebration and maintain law and order on June 17, as directed by Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal.

JAMSHEDPUR – Following the instructions of District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, peace committee meetings are being held at police stations across the district to ensure a peaceful celebration of Bakrid (Eid-ul-Azha) on June 17.

During these meetings, attendees were encouraged to foster a brotherly and harmonious environment during the festival.

Committee members were advised not to pay attention to rumors and to raise awareness within their communities to avoid actions that could hurt the sentiments of people of other religions.

A strict watch will be kept on social media to monitor and prevent the spread of rumors, with strict action against those spreading unrest.

Deputy Commissioner Mittal emphasized the importance of celebrating the festival while respecting each other’s sentiments.

He directed sub-divisional officers, BDOs, COs, and police station in-charges to hold peace committee meetings in their respective areas by June 14 and to appeal for peace.

Municipal body officials were instructed to ensure cleanliness and promptly repair street lights and high mast lights where necessary.

Special monitoring of social media will be in place during Bakrid to address any objectionable posts promptly.

COs and station in-charges have also been instructed to coordinate and conduct intensive raids against the manufacture and sale of illegal liquor in their areas.

They are required to submit welfare reports to the district headquarters regularly and maintain a special vigil at sensitive locations.

"We urge everyone to celebrate Bakrid in a manner that upholds peace and respect for all communities," stated Deputy Commissioner Mittal.
