KKR Clinch Third IPL Title with Dominant Win Over SRH in 2024 Final

Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain Pat Cummins Won the Toss and Elected to Bat First Against Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders secured their third Indian Premier League title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the IPL 2024 final at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) triumphed in the IPL 2024 final, claiming their third title with a dominant performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat first against KKR.

KKR’s bowlers, led by Harshit Rana, Mitchell Starc, and Vaibhav Arora, dismantled the SRH top order.

Harshit Rana struck in his first over, removing Nitish Kumar Reddy, followed by Starc dismissing Rahul Tripathi.

Vaibhav Arora then took out Travis Head after Starc had earlier dismissed Abhishek Sharma.

The KKR bowlers proved too strong for the Hyderabad batsmen, restricting them to a mere 113 runs.

In response, KKR got off to a rapid start, accumulating 72 runs in the powerplay despite Cummins dismissing Sunil Narine in the second over.

Venkatesh Iyer, who had a stellar playoff run, scored his second half-century in the playoffs, leading the chase.

KKR easily chased down the small target of 114, securing victory by eight wickets.

This win marks KKR’s third IPL title, with previous victories in 2012 and 2014, while SRH, champions in 2016, fell short in the final.

The victory at MA Chidambaram Stadium highlighted KKR’s dominance in the tournament and their strong bowling and batting performances.
