Villagers Rescue Yamuna Sundi from Bear Attack; She is Now Undergoing Treatment

An elderly woman from Toira village in Surbuda Panchayat was seriously injured after being attacked by a wild bear in a nearby forest.

CHAKRADHARPUR – In Chakradharpur, an elderly woman named Yamuna Sundi was attacked by a wild bear on Tuesday morning while she was in the forest near her home.

The 60-year-old resident of Toira village in Surbuda Panchayat was in the forest for some work when the incident occurred.

The bear inflicted serious injuries on Yamuna Sundi, targeting her chest and back.

Upon hearing her cries for help, nearby villagers rushed to her aid and managed to chase the bear away.

The woman’s family members hurriedly took her to Chakradharpur Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

Yamuna Sundi is currently receiving medical care for her injuries at the hospital.

The incident has raised concerns about the presence of wild animals near residential areas.

Local authorities have been alerted to the situation and are expected to take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The villagers’ quick response helped save the elderly woman from further harm.

The villagers are now urging for better safety measures and awareness to protect residents from wildlife encounters.
