Kerala School Community Clashes Over Repeated Student Failures in Jamshedpur
At Kerala Public School in Burmamines, Jamshedpur, a heated confrontation has erupted as parents challenge the school director over the academic failures of numerous students in classes 9 and 11.
JAMSHEDPUR – Disenchantment mounts at Kerala Public School, where a group comprising students and their guardians are protesting against repeated academic failures and demanding promotions.
During a recent demonstration outside the school grounds, a distressing incident occurred when a girl suffered a fainting spell due to breathing difficulties amidst the ongoing protest.
This confrontation stemmed from the administration’s decision to hold re-tests for the 80 students who initially failed, resulting in only half passing the subsequent examination.
Those who failed again were denied further opportunities to advance, leading to the protest.
Parents and students are now in a deadlock with the school’s management, insisting on the right to continue their education at the same institution rather than transferring elsewhere, a move they believe would jeopardize their academic future.
The school had invited the aggrieved parties for a discussion, yet the offer was declined, setting the stage for the current stand-off.
