Water Crisis Sparks Protest in Jamshedpur’s Mango Area

Residents Threaten Election Boycott Over Persistent Water Shortage

A severe water shortage in Mango, Jamshedpur, has prompted local residents to threaten a voting boycott, demanding immediate governmental action.

JAMSHEDPUR – A severe water shortage in Mango, Jamshedpur, has prompted local residents to threaten a voting boycott, demanding immediate governmental action.

The crisis reached a critical point when residents of Subhash Colony, particularly troubled by the sight of a 65-year-old woman, Chinta Devi, transporting water on a bicycle, began chanting "No water, no vote."

For nearly two months, the locality has faced erratic water supply, dwindling to no availability in the last twenty days, as reported by the frustrated citizens during a visit by BJP leader Vikas Singh.

Vikas Singh, addressing the community’s grievances, discouraged the notion of an election boycott, labeling it as detrimental to democracy. He proposed a symbolic protest where locals would collect water from the Deputy Commissioner’s office to highlight the inadequacies of the current system.

The situation has escalated to the point where residents are prepared to place banners with the slogan "No water, no vote" if there is no improvement soon.

Community leaders and local figures, including Barmeshwar Kumar Dubey and Santosh Kumar Sharma, participated in the discussions, emphasizing the dire need for a reliable water supply in their community.
