Patron Abhay Singh announces celebration plans, appeals for discipline and cooperation
Thakur Pyara Singh Dhurandhar Singh Club, the oldest Ram Navami Akhara in Jamshedpur, is set to take out a grand procession this year from Sakchi Kashidih.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a press conference, club patron Abhay Singh announced that the upcoming Ram Navami Festival 2024 will be celebrated with great pomp in Kashidih.
The Akhara, which has a rich history dating back several decades, will witness stick demonstrations and games on Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami.
Bajrangbali Flag Hoisting
The flag of Bajrangbali will be hoisted at 12:00 noon on April 17, followed by Mahaprasad in the evening at 7 pm.
Abhay Singh emphasized that no vulgar or obscene songs should be played during Ram Navami, as it is against the religious Hindu tradition.
Shobha Yatra on April 19
Due to Ram Navami falling on a Thursday this year, the Shobha Yatra of Thakur Pyara Singh Dhurandhar Singh Akhara Samiti will be held on Friday, April 19, as per religious tradition.
The procession will depart from Kashidih via Basant Talkies to Swarnarekha River via Sakchi roundabout, with 800 members deployed to ensure a peaceful and disciplined conduct.
Appeal for Cooperation
Abhay Singh appealed to the people of Jamshedpur to participate in the procession on April 19 and cooperate with the Akhara Committee.
He also requested the administration to support the Akhara Committee, emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation between the committees and the administration.
