Ghatshila College Launches Campaign to Boost Voter Turnout

Ghatshila College’s voter awareness signature campaign is aimed at encouraging over a thousand first-time voters to participate in the upcoming Jamshedpur Lok Sabha elections on May 25, highlighting the importance of democracy.

GHATSHILA – Ghatshila College recently undertook an initiative to emphasize the crucial role of voting in a democracy by organizing a voter awareness signature campaign.

The campaign was launched with an event inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr. RK Choudhary, and witnessed the presence of Ghatshila Block Development Officer (BDO) Unika Sharma.

During her address to the students, BDO Unika Sharma highlighted the critical nature of voting and urged the youth to actively engage in the electoral process.

Principal Dr. Choudhary announced that on April 13, a voter’s oath would be taken by all students, aiming to instill courage and a sense of duty towards voting fearlessly.

This pledge was part of an awareness effort to ensure the new voters, along with their families and communities, recognize their voting rights and are motivated to participate in the electoral process.

More than a thousand students committed to casting their votes for the first time in the forthcoming Jamshedpur Lok Sabha elections, set for May 25, and pledged to encourage others to vote.

The event saw participation from a diverse group of faculty members and students, including Dr. PK Gupta, Dr. SK Singh, Dr. DC Ram, Professor Indal Paswan, Dr. Sandeep Chandra, Dr. SP Singh, Prof. Maheshwar Pramanik, Dr. Sanjesh Tiwari, Dr. Kumar Vishal, Prof. Vikas Munda, Prof. Soma Singh, Dr. Kanchan, and many more, who joined in the campaign to spread voter awareness.

The campaign’s inauguration was marked by the presence of Ghatshila BDO Unika Sharma, alongside College Principal Dr. RK Choudhary.
