Leopard Still at Large; Fake Video Creates Problems in Rescue Efforts: SP Manish Toppo

Elusive Leopard Remains At Large, Admn and Forest Department Working hard to rescue the Leopard

The Adityapur Industrial Area confronts heightened anxiety as a leopard sighting unsettles residents, with authorities intensifying efforts to ensure public safety

JAMSHEDPUR – The leopard sighted in the Adityapur Industrial Area is still at large and despite all efforts from the administration and the forest department team has not been rescued yet.

Meanwhile, the SP of Seraikela, Manish Toppo, has warned against spreading rumours and fake videos on the issue. He said that fake videos being spread on the social media are obstructing the rescue operation.

Meanwhile, anxiety and concern still prevail in the Adityapur Industrial Area following a leopard sighting on March 17th, with subsequent signs of the animal’s presence keeping the community on high alert.

Recent findings of fresh leopard footprints near Balmiki Nagar suggest the predator’s continued proximity to residential zones, causing unease among locals due to its undisclosed location.

Authorities have debunked a viral video claiming the leopard’s capture, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the search and the importance of accurate information during this critical period.

The discovery of two dead roosters in Chhota Gamharia has added to the community’s distress, although investigations suggest these incidents are unrelated to the leopard, pointing instead to a canine attack.

District Superintendent of Police, Manish Toppo, has announced an investigation into the source of the misleading video, highlighting the legal consequences for spreading falsehoods that could incite public panic.

As the quest to locate and safely capture the leopard continues, the Forest Department and local police urge residents to exercise caution and report any sightings or evidence that could aid in resolving the situation peacefully.

The ongoing situation underscores the delicate balance between wildlife and urban environments, with community safety and animal welfare both being paramount concerns for the authorities.
