The controversy emerged from a match on March 8, where Jamshedpur FC’s oversight led to a formal complaint by Mumbai City FC.

Mumbai City FC lodged a protest citing a breach of the minimum required number of Indian players on the field.

The AIFF validated the claim, adjusting the match outcome to a 3-0 win for Mumbai City FC based on the season’s rules.
