Jamshedpur Bar Association Faces Financial Crisis

Senior advocate calls for dues settlement to revive New Bar Building

Senior advocate TN Ojha, a key figure in the Jamshedpur Bar Association, has sounded the alarm over unpaid dues totaling Rs 70 lakh, urging members to fulfill their financial obligations to restore the New Bar Building’s operations and ensure access to its facilities.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Bar Association Ad-hoc Committee member and a senior advocate TN Ojha has urged the Life Members of Jamshedpur Bar Association to clear their dues outstanding for the last 12 years to help in ensuring normal operations of the new Bar Building.

Mr. Ojha said that he has taken significant strides over the last twelve months to rectify the association’s financial turmoil.

His initiatives include negotiating with chamber occupants to settle their debts in installments.

Ojha criticizes past officials for their negligence in dues collection, labeling them as defaulters.

The association’s fiscal challenges are underscored by a canteen owner’s refusal to pay dues, resulting in a power cutoff.

Ojha points out the contradiction of a justice-focused organization facing such financial disorder.

He has informed the Election Committee 2024, highlighting the urgency of resolving these issues.

Persistent efforts to engage responsible members through written communication have yielded little success.

Ojha’s efforts are part of a broader appeal to thousands of life members currently excluded from the chambers’ benefits.

Members are urged to clear their dues for the New Bar Building, accumulated over twelve years.

The situation calls for immediate action to uphold the integrity and operational capacity of our Association,” one Bar member said.

“Ensuring financial health is crucial for our collective professional environment,” another concerned member commented.

He said that the association’s plea for cooperation in settling dues reflects a critical step towards stability and functionality and everyone should extend cooperation..
