GreenPro Certification Marks Tata Steel’s Commitment to Eco-Friendly Steel

Tata Steel’s Automotive Flat Steel products have been awarded the coveted GreenPro Ecolabel, recognizing the company’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has been recognized for its commitment to environmentally sustainable practices, receiving the prestigious GreenPro Ecolabel from the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) for its Automotive Flat Steel products.

This accomplishment underscores Tata Steel’s role as a leader in sustainable steel solutions in the Indian market.

The GreenPro Ecolabel is a testament to the company’s continuous efforts to establish new sustainability benchmarks in the steel sector.

Through Life Cycle Assessment studies and the release of Environment Product Declarations (EPDs) for key products, Tata Steel demonstrates its ongoing dedication to environmental stewardship.

The company’s commitment is further evidenced by its extensive range of products, including steel rebars, tubes, doors, windows, and ground granulated blast furnace slag, all bearing the GreenPro certification.

As a preferred supplier in the automotive industry, Tata Steel has been instrumental in driving the sector towards sustainable practices.

Prabhat Kumar, Vice President of Marketing and Sales (Flat Products) at Tata Steel, emphasized the importance of the GreenPro certification in strengthening the company’s position as an eco-friendly manufacturer.

Rajiv Mangal, Vice President of Safety, Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel, expressed pride in achieving the GreenPro certification, reaffirming the company’s commitment to producing environmentally friendly steel solutions.

Over the last two decades, Tata Steel has established itself as a key supplier to the automotive industry, offering a wide range of products like Hot-Rolled, Cold-Rolled, and Galvanized steel.

The GreenPro Ecolabel, developed by CII’s Green Business Centre, sets a benchmark for environmental performance by evaluating the greenness of a product through a comprehensive framework.

The award reflects Tata Steel’s dedication to adopting eco-friendly production methods, as it continues to influence the automotive industry’s shift towards sustainable practices.
