Worldsteel Appoints T. V. Narendran as Vice-Chairman

Tata Steel’s CEO, T. V. Narendran, Named Worldsteel Vice-Chairman

Worldsteel, the prominent global steel industry association, appoints T. V. Narendran of Tata Steel as its Vice-Chairman. Leon Topalian of Nucor Corporation takes over as Chairman.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant move for the global steel industry, Worldsteel has appointed T. V. Narendran, the CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, as its Vice-Chairman.

The organization, which represents over 85% of worldwide steel production, has also named Leon Topalian, President and CEO of Nucor Corporation, as its Chairman.

This decision was made during the annual meeting of Worldsteel’s Board of Members, where they selected the Executive Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term.

Alongside Narendran, notable industry leaders like L N Mittal, Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal, and Sajjan Jindal, CMD of JSW Steel, have been named to the Executive Committee.
