Jaher Ayo Athletics Club Organizes Two-Day Event; Rs 2.70 Lakh Prize for Winners

Chakulia’s Marang Buru indoor stadium is all set for a two-day football tournament, attracting thousands of fans, with performances by tribal cinema stars and Cheers Girl’s dance as highlights.

CHAKULIA – The Marang Buru indoor stadium in Chakulia is gearing up to host a grand two-day football tournament.

Organized by the Jaher Ayo Athletics Club in Dudhiyashol, the event will take place on August 26 and 27, with 24 teams participating.

The entrance fee for each team for the tournament is Rs. 18,500.

The winning team will earn a trophy and Rs 2.70 lakh, while the second-placed team will receive Rs 2 lakh and a trophy.

Teams finishing third and fourth will be awarded Rs 80,000, with the fourth-place team also receiving a trophy.

Several awards, such as Man of the Series, Man of the Match, Best Goalkeeper, and Best Disciplined Team, will recognize individual and team excellence.

A special feature of the tournament will be the Cheer Girls’ dance and performances by tribal cinema actors and actresses.

The event will be accompanied by a two-day fair at the venue.

Fans, including men and women, watch the games eagerly, often from scaffolding atop trees.

Committee members, including President Basit Baske and Secretary Ramdhan Soren, are actively preparing for the tournament.

MLA Samir Kumar Mohanty inspected the tournament’s arrangements.

The award ceremony’s major guests will include Tribal Welfare Minister Champai Soren, Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren, Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar, and Baharagora MLA Samir Mohanty.
