BJP leader files complaint against engineers amidst water crisis affecting 2000 households in Mango, Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – BJP leader Vikas Singh has demanded action against the Executive Engineer and Junior Engineer of the Drinking Water Sanitation Department in Jamshedpur under section 307 of the IPC for intentionally harassing people and neglecting water, a fundamental amenity of everyday living.
Vikas Singh, a BJP leader, has asked the police to investigate allegations that Executive Engineer and Junior Engineer have been purposely tormenting and abusing individuals without access to water.
He claimed that under the condition of anonymity, project workers said that regular maintenance of working equipment such as motors, valves, steering wheels, and panel boards is never carried out.
A complaint was filed at the Ulidih police station against Executive Engineer and Junior Engineer by Vikas Singh, along with the locals.
He said that the water valve is irreparably damaged and a replacement must be sourced from Kolkata.
This process is likely to take another four to five days, as reported by Vikas Singh, who has inquired about the situation from the department’s engineers.
Approximately 2000 households are affected by the lack of water supplies in Mango neighborhoods.
The communities that have been without water for the last six days include Sankosai Road No. 5, Kalika Nagar, Teachers Colony, Murti Line, Munda Colony, Ekta Nagar, Jaiprakash Nagar, Akhara Gali, Subhash Colony, and Hayat Nagar, highlighting the broad scope of the water supply issue present in Mango.
