Jamshedpur’s Amandeep Kaur equals the national high jump record at the ICSE Zonal Athletics Championship.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur’s Amandeep Kaur has equaled the national record in the high jump of the ongoing ICSE Zonal Athletics Championship at JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.
She crossed the national record of 1.62 meters last year set in Pune.
But, at the height of 1.64 K, the hurdle fell due to a light foot touch, so that she missed out on making a new record.
Amandeep Kaur, a student of Sacred Heart Convent School, has already broken the state record.
Under the association and guidance of sports guru Sanjeev Kumar (JRD), Amandeep’s continuous practice continues on the track of JRD Sports Complex.
Earlier, Sonari resident Amandeep had created a record in the 33rd Eastern Regional Junior Athletics Championship held at Patliputra Stadium, Kankarbagh, Patna.
Amandeep Kaur made a record in the women’s under-18 high jump event and won the gold medal.
She made this record by making a high jump of 1.58 meters.
Before Amandeep, this record was in the name of Jamuna Tudu of East Singhbhum.
Jamuna had set a record in 2006 by jumping 1.55 meters in the 18th Inter Zone Athletics held in Uttar Pradesh.
But now A,amandeep has crossed this height and crossed the height of 1.62 meters.
Along with the school management, the sports department has also congratulated her on this success.
