After months of negotiations by labor leader Ambuj Thakur, worker Prafulla Kumbhkar was reinstated at Jamshedpur’s BlueScope Company, Signode India Limited.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent turn of events, laborer Prafulla Kumbhkar has been reinstated at the Blue Scope Company of Jamshedpur, Signode India Limited.
Kumbhkar was previously expelled from his position at the company.
The reinstatement comes following the persistent efforts of labor leader Ambuj Thakur, who is also the district secretary of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC).
Thakur had been advocating for Kumbhkar’s rights and had been in talks with the Deputy Labor Commissioner for several months to ensure the laborer’s return to the company.
On Friday, another round of discussions was held at the office of the Deputy Labor Commissioner, which resulted in the successful reinstatement of Kumbhkar.
The agreement was arrived at following a consensus between both parties.
Thakur, who represented AITUC, considered it a positive result of the better coordination between the parties and expressed his happiness over Kumbhkar’s return.
