JAMSHEDPUR – The District Congress in Jamshedpur has staged a protest against the atrocities being committed on women in Manipur.
In a symbolic act of dissent, they burned effigies of the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country.
The protest, chaired by District Congress Working President Dharmendra Sonkar, took place at Ganesh Puja Ground Golchakkar.
Before this act, a protest march was organized, with Congress members raising slogans against the central government.
The party has criticized the ongoing violence in Manipur and the lack of central intervention.
They highlighted a recent incident where a woman was tortured in the middle of the road and condemned the continued silence of the central government.
Labeling the situation as a failure of both the Manipur and central governments, they demanded action from the President of the country.
