24-year-old Shivcharan Kisku drowns in a pond in Jamshedpur’s theme park under Govindpur police station, sparking calls for stronger safety measures.
JAMSHEDPUR – Local resident Shivcharan Kisku, 24, tragically lost his life to drowning in a pond located in a theme park under the jurisdiction of the Govindpur police station in Jamshedpur.
Upon receiving the news, police quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area and begin their investigation.
The victim, who lived near the pond, had reportedly gone for a swim with three other young men when the incident occurred.
He drowned during the swim, and his body was later retrieved from the pond with the assistance of divers.
The police have taken custody of the body and are continuing their inquiries into the incident.
The news of the tragedy prompted the immediate arrival of Zilla Parishad members, who surveyed the scene and inquired about the incident.
They emphasized that this incident underscores the necessity for the Forest Department to take preventative measures, as numerous similar incidents have occurred in the past.
The Zilla Parishad members recommended the pond be barricaded from all sides and called on the department to implement stricter safety standards to prevent such incidents in the future.
