Rogue Elephant Rampage in Seraikela Causes Casualties and Panic

An isolated elephant in Rajnagar, Seraikela, causes chaos, leading to one death and two serious injuries among the local population.

SERA IKELA – A devastating incident was reported from the Rajnagar police station area of the Seraikela-Kharsawan district early Wednesday morning.

A rogue elephant, separated from its herd, wreaked havoc, trampling three locals, including two farmers.

The unfortunate incident resulted in the death of a 55-year-old farmer, while two others sustained severe injuries and are currently under treatment.

The first incident, occurring around 5:30 AM, involved Jaipal Soy, a 55-year-old farmer returning from his Tangrani farm.

The elephant trampled Soy, causing serious harm to his hand and leg.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

Another tragic encounter took place near Bodamtalia village of Tintidih Panchayat, around 6:00 AM.

A 55-year-old farmer, identified as Yudhishthir Mahato alias Guddu Mahato, was fatally trampled by the elephant near a drain where he had gone for defecation.

The third unfortunate incident occurred around 7:25 PM near Kheri-Bhalubasa, where an 18-year-old named Sumit Panda was seriously injured by the elephant.

The injured youth was promptly taken to Adityapur Shiva Nursing Home for treatment.

Following the incidents, a state of panic spread among the villagers.

Reports suggest that the elephant continues to linger near Bodam Talia hill.

Local villagers have notified both Rajnagar Police Station and the Forest Department.

These tragic events have sent shockwaves throughout the area and cast a gloom over the families of the victims.
