Terror-Themed Film 72 Hoorain Premieres to Subdued Reception in Jamshedpur, Hopes for Word-of-Mouth Boost

New terrorism-based film 72 Hoorain hits theatres amidst minimal publicity, expects to generate buzz through word of mouth like predecessors The Kerala Story and Kashmir Files.

JAMSHEDPUR – Amidst controversies and a quiet promotional campaign, the much-awaited terrorism-themed movie, 72 Hoorain, made its theatre debut. Despite the initial lukewarm reception, expectations are high for the film’s popularity to grow organically, akin to movies such as The Kerala Story and Kashmir Files.

Lukewarm Initial Box Office Response, Positive Reviews

Despite underwhelming advance bookings for the first show at Jamshedpur PJP Cinepolis, there is hope that positive word of mouth will boost audience numbers after a few shows. The initial reviews have been promising, suggesting that the movie may perform well at the box office in the coming days.

Special Screening at JNU Sparks Discussion

A special screening of 72 Hoorain at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University on July 4, 2023, hosted by the Vivekananda Vichar Manch, has sparked significant conversation in media and cinema circles.

Speaking about the film, producer Ashoke Pandit stated, “The experience was brilliant because we believed in the subject and the subject was close to us. Our intention is to expose terrorism and those forces that support it, and the innocents who are targeted.”

Addressing the Criticism

Responding to criticisms, Pandit added, “We want people to criticise it, but they should do so logically, not just say it’s a propaganda film.” National Award-winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan expressed his disappointment at the premature judgments on the movie and requested people to watch the film before forming opinions.

Visual Innovation and Stellar Performances

A notable feature of 72 Hoorain is its black-and-white cinematography, paired with high-quality VFX. It offers an intriguing viewing experience for movie enthusiasts. Pawan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir delivered standout performances that, according to initial reviews, have elevated the film’s standard.
