JAMSHEDPUR – Shyamlal Mahto, a 42-year-old resident of ECC Flat area in Kadma and a Tata Steel employee, tragically lost his life on Friday. He had been struggling for his life at the Tata Main Hospital for eight days following a fatal car accident.

Mahto was driving back from a wedding at Kharsawan in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on June 23.

He had dropped several relatives at their homes and was finally returning home to Kadma when his car rammed into a stationary truck. The incident occurred on the Tata-Kandra four-lane road under Adityapur thana area, near DVC More.

Despite the car’s airbag unfolding on time, Mahto sustained serious injuries to his head and chest. The airbag, unfortunately, was not enough to protect him from the severe impact of the collision.

Immediately after the accident,

Mahto was rescued from the wreckage and rushed to the Tata Main Hospital. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, his condition deteriorated, and he succumbed to his injuries on June 30.

Following his demise, the police retrieved Mahto’s body and transferred it to the MGM medical college mortuary for an autopsy.
